Archive Assistant - Capturing Assistant

UNIT / PROGRAM: Philippine Film Archive   STATUS: Contract of Service (COS)  SALARY: SG 9 (PHP 23,226)


PLACE OF ASSIGNMENT: FDCP Central Office - Manila

RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Operate or assist in the operation of tape digitization equipment under supervision.
  • Prepare and inspect tapes (e.g., VHS, Betacam, U-matic) for capturing, ensuring cleanliness and playback compatibility.
  • Monitor digitization processes and flag any issues such as playback errors or file irregularities.
  • Organize and label digital files according to the PFA's file-naming and metadata standards.
  • Assist in backing up digitized files to designated storage drives or servers.
  • Help in conducting periodic inventory checks of both analog tape formats and digital assets.
  • Update and maintain logs, spreadsheets, or catalog systems reflecting accurate item conditions and storage locations.
  • Perform additional duties related as instructed by the Lead Officer and unit Head.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of Information & Technology, Multimedia Arts, or any related course
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; internship(s) related to digitization or archiving is also preferred
  • Must be knowledgeable in Adobe System and Da Vinci software
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Computer literate
